Orbit with 1 finger, sketch with Apple Pencil on iPad Pro.

New here and still reading through all the threads, but a quick search did not bring much up on this. Since this is a 3D sketching app, I am finding it painful to have to hold the orbit button to spin the model. Especially on iPad Pro, it shouldn't be too difficult to allow an option to restrict finger input to gestures only and then use the pencil for sketching, selecting, editing points, etc. Then I could orbit the model with one finger instead of constantly drawing little scratch marks all over the screen.

Thanks for the suggestion. As will all software there is a slight learning curve. When we were creating uMake we did look at various ways of orbiting, but the Orbit button seems logical, and was ideal in that it lets a user create with or without an Apple Pencil. As this is a sketching app, we want users to be able to quickly create on the go, and if sketching was only possible with the Pencil, that would be unfortunate in the event you forget your pencil. We could make a setting that would allow for 1 finger orbit when the pencil is in use, but this could lead to some UI complications. We do listen to all of our users, and we are always open to trying new things.

That said, my recommendation is to just spend more time with uMake-- you will get used to the Orbit button pretty quickly, and then it will feel natural.

Hope that helps.

Definitely +1 for this.

Orbit with one finger is more natural than press the button and (then) orbit.
