What Kind of Stylus do I need to use uMake?

While uMake does not require a stylus (sketching with your fingers is possible and fun) styli help with accuracy and with the “pen and paper” sketching experience. Styli that we like and have used include the following:

Many of the styli listed below can be seen in our Stylus Guide blog post which you can view here.

Passive Styli (non Bluetooth enabled):

Elgado Grip Stylus
Elgado Hex Stylus
Wacom Bamboo Solo Stylus
Wacom Bamboo Duo Stylus

Adonit Jot Pro

Adonit Jot Dash

Bargains Depot Stylus

Active Styli*: (Bluetooth enabled Styli)
Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus (Please note, the Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus 2 is not compatible with the iPad Air 2)
Pencil by 53 (they have a nifty app too)

Adonit Jot Touch

For iPad Pro users, we highly recommend the Apple Pencil. It is a fantastic active stylus and is extremely accurate. In addition to this, when paired with the iPad Pro, palm recognition is automatically enabled.

•Please note: Currently an Active Stylus is not required to use uMake and the functions such as pressure sensitivity, palm rejection and tilt are not used or recognized by uMake at this time. This could change as we continue development in the future.
